Darrell Houle

Senior Producer

Darrell HouleAs senior producer, Darrell guides our client and production teams through the website creation and promotion process. Over his career, Darrell has carried out every role of the web development process: from deep coding to usability testing and design to search engine marketing strategy. He leverages this experience with his clients: Loreto Bay Company, United Nations Foundation, Options for Sexual Health, PLAN, and Make Poverty History.

Darrell began building websites on the newly created Internet back in 1993. At that time images had just began showing up on websites and blinking text was the hottest visual effect. Since then, his experience has grown by working for four web development firms, an Internet start-up, and working on countless educational, private, public, environmental, and social change websites. His awards and acknowledgements include Best Alberta Town website, Taschen's 1000 best websites, Alberta New Media Honorable Mention, and recently the 2007 Webby Award for Non-Profit Websites.

As a former owner of the online marketing firm 1024 Media, he spent time in the trenches as a programmer, database developer, search engine marketer, project manager, and usability tester. Darrell holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Native Studies (focus in Community-based research), with distinction, and a diploma in programming from the University of Alberta.
